Susan A. Stephens
Susan A. Stephens (born February 9, 1945 ) is an American classical philologist .
Life
She earned a BA in English from Stanford University in 1965, an MA in Latin from Columbia University in 1967 and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. in Classics 1972. She taught at Oakland University (Assistant Professor, 1971–1974) and at Yale University (Assistant Professor 1974–1978); In 1978 she moved to Stanford University (Assistant Professor, 1978–1982; Associate Professor 1982–1990); she has been a professor there since 1990 .
Stephens works on Hellenistic poetry (especially on Callimachos , Theocritus and Apollonios of Rhodes ).
