Susana de Fátima Carvalho Amador (born April 25, 1967 in Alagoa , Portalegre ) is a Portuguese administrative lawyer and politician ( PS ).

Life

Susana Amador graduated from the Faculty of Law in Lisbon in 1990. This was followed by in-depth studies of asylum law at Oxford University and postgraduate studies at Catholic University in 1994 . She then completed a master's degree in communication, media and law at the Universidade Nova in Lisbon.

From 1991 to 1993 she worked as a legal advisor at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), then from 1993 to 1995 as the coordinator of the legal department at the Portuguese Refugee Council (CPR). She then worked for the Bar Association. Since September 2001 she has been Technical Director at the Instituto da Segurança Social . From 1998 to 2002 she was also a visiting professor for international relations at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Coimbra .

After her election to the Assembleia Municipal of Odivelas , she was its president from 2001 to 2005 and a member of the Assembleia Metropolitana of Lisbon from 2001 to 2003 . In 2005 she was elected President of the Câmara Municipal of Odivelas and in this capacity is also a member of the Junta Metropolitana of Lisbon.

From March 2005 to October 2009 she was a member of the Assembleia da República .
