Susana Chavez (2008)

Susana Chávez Castillo (born November 5, 1974 in Ciudad Juárez ; † January 6, 2011 there ) was a Mexican writer and human rights activist .

life and work

At the age of eleven, she went public to present poetic works. So she took part in several literary festivals, first in her hometown, and later throughout Mexico. According to her blog , Chavez graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez with a degree in psychology. Most recently she worked on a volume of poetry.

She was found dead around January 6, 2011 on the street in the Colonia Cuauhtémoc neighborhood in Ciudad Juárez. The mutilated body could not be identified until January 11, 2011.
