Susanne Gödde

Susanne Gödde (born April 1, 1965 in Münster ) is a German classical philologist and religious scholar .

Life

Susanne Gödde studied Greek Philology , German Philology and Classical Archeology at the University of Münster from 1985 to 1993 . She then worked (from 1994 to 1995 as a doctoral scholarship holder at the university) on her dissertation, The Drama of the Hikesie. Ritual and rhetoric in Aeschylus ' Hiketiden (doctoral supervisor was Horst-Dieter Blume ), with which she received her doctorate in 1999 ; for this she received the doctoral award from the University of Münster. From 1996 to 1999 she worked as a research assistant at the chair for cultural anthropology at the University of Paderborn . Her task here was in particular the coordination of research projects on myth research and on the cultural-scientific reorientation of the humanities.

After completing her doctorate, Gödde received a Lise Meitner grant for her habilitation project for three years (2000 to 2002) . From January 2003 to September 2006 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Religious Studies at the Free University of Berlin ; She also worked in the Collaborative Research Center 447 “Cultures of the Performative”. In the 2005/2006 winter semester, she represented the chair for Greek Philology at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In June 2006 she completed her habilitation with the font Euphemia. The good speech in the cult and literature of ancient Greece , for which she was awarded the Heidelberg Prize for Classical Philological Theory. From October 2006 she worked in the research network Theater and Festival in Europe on the sub-project Theater and Festival in Antiquity . In March 2008 she turned down the offer of the Free University of Berlin to a W2 professorship “for religion and culture of antiquity and its reception history”. Since April 2008 she has held the chair of the Greek artist Oliver Primavesi at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In November 2013 she was appointed W2 professor for Greek Philology and Religious Studies there.

In 2016 Gödde accepted an appointment at the Free University of Berlin , where she is now working as a professor of religious studies in the successor to Renate Schlesier .
