Susanne Munk Wilbek (born October 12, 1967 in Hvorslev, Denmark ; born Susanne Munk Lauritsen ) is a former Danish handball player .

Career

Wilbek started playing handball at Vellev IF. Then the goalkeeper Viborg HK joined. By the end of her career in 2001, Wilbek was a member of the women's squad for a total of 15 seasons, with which she won the Danish championship seven times.

Wilbek played 171 international matches for the Danish women's national handball team , in which she scored three goals. With Denmark she won the 1997 World Cup , the 1994 European Championship and the 1996 European Championship . She also won the gold medal with Denmark at the 1996 Olympic Games .

After her career, Wilbek took over as assistant coach in Viborg in 2005, where she was dismissed in 2006. In 2008, Wilbek joined the Skjern Håndbold coaching team , where she led, among other things, goalkeeper training for the men's team. In summer 2011 she returned to Viborg HK as the sporting director. From spring 2013 Wilbek worked as a goalkeeper coach and in the youth division at Viborg HK. In November 2013 she had to resign from all offices in Viborg. Since the 2017/18 season she has been working again as an assistant trainer in Viborg.

Susanne Munk Wilbek is married to the Danish handball trainer Ulrik Wilbek .
