Susanne Ristow

Susanne Ristow (* 1971 in Lübeck ) is a German visual artist .

Life

From 1990 to 1992 she studied at the University of Fine Arts Braunschweig with Roland Dörfler . She then stayed in Spain (including Madrid ) in 1992/1993 for study purposes . From 1993 to 1997 she studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Jannis Kounellis . After receiving the academy letter (1997) she was a master class student with Jannis Kounellis.

From 1998 to 1999 Ristow was a scholarship holder of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Naples , then in 2000 a scholarship holder of the "Aldegrever Society" ( Münster ) and in 2002 a scholarship holder of the "WestHyp Foundation" ( Dortmund ).

Since 2002 she has not only worked on the production of her own works, but also on art education. During this time she began her work Adonis Depot (a construct of wooden picture panels on free-standing shelves) and became a member of the Capribatterie e. V. works for art transfer between Naples and Düsseldorf. Ristow is also increasingly understanding her lectures on art as part of her artistic work.

In 2010 she received a several-month work grant from the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia for a stay at the Fondazione Morra (Naples) and began a cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Beijing and the Chinese National Museum.

Ristow lives and works in Düsseldorf as a freelance artist and art mediator (among others at the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen and the Museum Kunst Palast in Düsseldorf and at the Lehmbruck Museum in Duisburg).
