The Suzuki Regina / G70 is a prototype from the Japanese Suzuki Motor Corporation . It was presented for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show 2011. A year later, the same model was exhibited again, this time under the name G70 at the Geneva Motor Show. The name is based on the internal nickname of the developers for the project, the aim of which was to design a vehicle with emissions of less than 70 g CO 2 / km.

Technical specifications

Motorization

Suzuki did not provide any details about the power and number of cylinders of the 800 cm³ gasoline engine with direct injection and turbocharger. An automatic start-stop and regenerative braking to supply the electrical devices reduce consumption. Overall, the vehicle achieves fuel consumption (3.1 l per 100 km) and carbon dioxide emissions (<70 g / km) that are on a similar level to that of most common hybrid cars.

Construction

The systematic lightweight construction and streamlined design of the body make the vehicle more efficient. According to the manufacturer, the Regina's drag coefficient is more than 10% below that of all other Suzuki in production. In addition to the tapering vehicle shape and lines, a special rim design, a very small air inlet at the front and narrow cameras instead of the usual rear-view mirrors keep air resistance low.

Interior

The interior of the fully-fledged four-seater matches the green on the outside. In addition to automatic air conditioning and navigation, the concept offered Apple compatibility and an Internet connection.

Series production

According to Suzuki, the vehicle should be an example of the future direction the manufacturer envisions for the segment.

A series for the Indian market was planned for the end of 2016. The vehicles would have been manufactured by Maruti Suzuki India , with which Suzuki has a joint venture. The expected price was given as 425,000 to 625,000 rupees (around € 5,400 to € 8,000). However, no further efforts by the companies followed the announcement.
