At Maruti, Suzuki vehicles are produced under license, of which the Maruti 800 , a license build of the Suzuki Alto presented in 1984, plays an important role. For a long time it was the best-selling car model on the Indian subcontinent as well as in the neighboring countries of Pakistan , Bangladesh and Nepal . The Nissan Pixo has also been produced by Maruti since 2009 .

In the meantime, Maruti's almost monopoly position in India is being questioned by rival Tata Motors and by foreign corporations. According to the company, the market share in 2012 and 2013 was just under 40%. Maruti brand vehicles are also used in some European countries such as B. offered in Hungary , Greece , Malta and the Netherlands parallel to the Suzuki model range.

Production also takes place at Pragoti Industries in Bangladesh .

1,429,246 vehicles were produced up to 2015. In August 119,931 vehicles were sold out of a total of approximately 253,000 vehicles sold across India. The previous sales in 2016 again point to a new record profit.
