Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (Adani Ports & SEZ) is India's largest private port operator. It is part of the Adani Group , an integrated infrastructure group. The company, formerly known as Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited , got its current name on January 6, 2012. It was founded in 1998 by the entrepreneur Gautam Adani . The company started operations in the port of Mundra in 1998 and currently operates 10 ports in India with 45 berths and 14 terminals in 6 different states. It operates 3 inland container depots through its subsidiary Adani Logistics . The company also operates the Mundra Free Trade Zone .
