Chinkara Motors Private Limited is a company from India .

Company history

The Alibag- based company was officially founded on April 20, 2006. Guido Bothe from Germany and his wife Shama run the company. In 2006 there were eleven employees. The brand name has been Chinkara since 2003 , so it was used before the company was founded. The vehicles are also available as kit cars .

In addition, ships and helicopters manufactured.

Participation in trade fairs

The company presented vehicles at the Mumbai Motor Show 2003 and Mumbai Motor Show 2004 . In February 2007, the company took part in the Mumbai International Boat Show .

On the Mumbai Motor Show 2003 which was 1.8 S Roadster first presented. This is a replica of the Lotus Seven . The vehicles are powered by an Isuzu engine with a displacement of 1817 cm³ and an output of 88 hp . The maximum speed is specified as 196 km / h. For 2004 a price from 672,000 rupees is handed down. That year it should have been the only roadster made in India.

The following year, the Jeepster , which is similar to the Jeep of the 1940s, was presented at the show . It has the same engine. In 2004 the vehicle cost from 398,000 rupees.

A replica of an AC Cobra is also on offer .

Another source also names the model Hammer and describes it as a kind of VW buggy .

The replica of the Ford GT 40 was in the planning stage in 2004.

In April 2016, the company listed the models Roadster S as a roadster, Hammer as an all-terrain six-seater with a resemblance to the Chevrolet Corvette , Rockster as an ATV , Beachster as a buggy, Jeepster as a Jeep-like vehicle, Sailster as a beach sailor and Mobile Homes as a motorhome .

The Times of India reported on March 2, 2004 that industrialist Gautam Singhania was one of the first buyers. DNA, a division of Diligent Media Corporation , announced on January 13, 2006 that Gautam Singhania was its first customer. Another source confirms orders from Gautam Singhania and Shrinik Baldoota. By March 2006, eleven roadsters had been completed.

As of December 20, 2003, four owners of Chinkara vehicles are known: Gautam Singhania with a blue model, Shrenik Baldota from Hospet with a yellow model, Navin Roland from Bangalore with an order for a green and yellow three-seater and Vinar Shankar from Delhi, whose vehicle is still under construction. Baldota praised his vehicle as good, worth its price, nice and sporty.

The Allcarindex website shows vehicles with the Indian license plates MHC 245 , MSS 9599 and MRZ 8474 .

The company manufactured a 21-meter-long speedboat for the Indian police .
