2001 Suzuki MR Wagon (before facelift)

On December 4 , 2001, the first generation of the MR Wagon came on the market. It was powered by a 40 kW (54 PS) 3-cylinder or a 44 kW (60 PS) 3-cylinder. The latter was turbo-charged. Both engines could be ordered with either front or all-wheel drive . In 2005, a hydrogen version, which was developed in cooperation with General Motors , was presented.

The Nissan Moco was presented as a concept in 2001 at the 35th Tokyo Motor Show and was launched on April 10 , 2002. It had the same engines as the Suzuki. The biggest difference between Moco and MR Wagon was that the Nissan's grille was split in two. It looked like the one in the Nissan Primera P12.

The first generation came onto the Indian market in 2006 as the Maruti Zen Estilo. However, the Zen Estilo was powered by a 1.1 liter engine, which was also installed in the Suzuki Wagon R in Japan . The first generation of the MR Wagon / Zen Estilo is sold in India , but in 2009 it was renamed the Maruti Suzuki Estilo. In 2009 the design of the Estilo was changed slightly so that it no longer looked exactly like the Japanese version.

2nd generation (2006-2011)

The second generation MR Wagon was introduced at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show in 2005 as a concept called Mom's Personal Wagon . This particular name came from the fact that the concept car was perfectly tailored for mothers who have to chauffeur their children. One of the many highlights was a sliding door on the side . But none of these refinements went into series production, which began on January 20 , 2006. The Moco did not go into series production until February 1 , 2006 because it had the keyless start system ( Keyless Go ). All other equipment details and engines (40 kW (54 PS), 658 cm³, R3 cylinder .; 47 kW (64 PS), 658 cm³, R3 cylinder) were identical. In terms of design, the Moco and MR Wagon are again identical, except for the two-part grill of the Nissan.
