The Suzuki Vitara X-90 (in Japan SUV Cabrio ) is a car model produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki from April 1996 to May 1997 . The car is a sport utility vehicle with a removable metal / glass Targa roof and is based on the Suzuki Vitara . The two-seater X-90 shares the ladder frame and the motor and drive technology with him . Due to the unusual design, only small numbers of the Vitara X-90 have been sold worldwide.
The only motorization offered was a 1.6-liter 16-valve ( regular gasoline ) with 71 kW (97 hp). In Germany it was only offered with selectable all-wheel drive , while in other markets it was also supplied with rear-wheel drive. Special features are the frameless panes, the T-roof concept and the extensive standard equipment for the time. These include two airbags , electric windows , central locking , self-locking hubs, power steering , a rear wing with a third brake light, an immobilizer , side impact protection , wide tires and a fully-fledged spare wheel. Surcharge were ABS , alloy wheels , air conditioning, a leather interior and a four step automatic transmission available. There were also five exterior paint finishes to choose from: Midnight Black Metallic, Lava Red, Ultra Blue Metallic, Silver Pearl and Arctic Ice. In 1997 there was also a special model called Phillipe Cousteaux .
