The Suzuki Across is a sport utility vehicle from the Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki .
history
The vehicle was presented at the beginning of July 2020. In autumn 2020, it will be available exclusively in Europe.
background
The SUV is based on the plug-in hybrid version of the Toyota RAV4 presented in November 2019 . Toyota and Suzuki agreed on a partnership back in 2017 . In addition to the Across, a vehicle based on the Toyota Corolla is to be integrated into the Suzuki model range. In return, Suzuki develops vehicles for India and Africa, which are then also marketed as Toyota. The Toyota Glanza , which has been available in India since June 2019, is based on the second generation of the Suzuki Baleno .
The Across is by far the largest model in Suzuki's European product range. Political reasons are also given for this: The plug-in hybrid with CO 2 emissions is suitable for reducing fleet consumption and thus preventing higher compensation payments from the manufacturer at a rate of 22 g / km according to WLTP .
Technical specifications
The vehicle is powered by a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with 136 kW (185 PS) as well as an electric motor on the front axle with 134 kW (182 PS) and an electric motor on the rear axle with 40 kW (54 PS). With these engines it has an electric four-wheel drive . The lithium-ion battery positioned in the ground has a capacity of 18.1 kWh and enables an electric range of 75 km according to WLTP. The top speed is electronically limited to 180 km / h.
