The Suzuki Vitara (type LY) is a compact SUV from the Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki , which has been built and delivered since spring 2015. This new Vitara should not replace the Suzuki Grand Vitara , as Suzuki spokesman specifically pointed out.
Dimensions and motors
The Vitara is 4.18 m long, 1.78 m wide and 1.61 m high, its wheelbase extends over 2.50 m. The trunk volume is 375 l. The engine selection was initially a diesel and a gasoline engine, and later two gasoline engines. The gasoline engine with manifold injection and the diesel engine with common rail injection have a displacement of 1.6 l with 88 kW (120 hp) each, while the direct-injection, exhaust-gas-charged gasoline engine in the Vitara S develops 103 kW (140 hp). As of autumn 2018, a 1.0-l turbo gasoline engine with 82 kW (111 PS) was available as a replacement for the 1.6-l suction gasoline engine that was no longer available; the diesel version was also discontinued. Since April 2020 there has only been a 1.4-liter booster jet mild hybrid drive with 95 kW (129 PS). Some engines can be combined with all-wheel drive . The gasoline engine models were available with a 6- speed automatic transmission from Aisin and the diesel variant was available with an automatic 6-speed dual clutch transmission from Fiat Powertrains .
Revision (facelift)
In autumn 2018, Suzuki made some detailed changes to the Vitara as part of a facelift. The most important change here is the elimination of the previous 1.6-l petrol and diesel engines in favor of the turbo petrol engines with 1.0 and 1.4 l displacement already known from other Suzuki models and the Vitara S. Also z. B. the grille, the rear lights, the rims, the instrument panel and the surface appearance of the interior plastics. Since April 2020, only one engine with 95 kW / 129 PS has been available (1.4 Boosterjet Hybrid).
