Svanabyn is a place ( småort ) in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County and the historical province (landskap) Lapland . The place belongs to the municipality of Dorotea .

The place is located on the secondary Länsväg AC 925 between the two lakes Svanavattnet and Ullsjön. Svanabyn has a small church. The next larger town, Dorotea parish with about 1500 inhabitants, is located about 25 kilometers to the northwest.

The Swedish author Helmer Grundström (1904–1986) lived in this area.
