Svanvik is located in the Pasvik Valley on the west bank of the Pasvikelva , whose east bank belongs to Russia .
The place is connected to the Norwegian road network via Fylkesvei 88.
Location description
Svanhovd is located in Svanvik , a research center for agriculture, the environment and pollution that was founded in 1992 and is part of the Norwegian Institute for Bioeconomy . The Norwegian Radiation Protection Agency, Sør-Varanger Museum, Bioforsk and the Pasvik Adult Education Center are located here .
Border station Pasvik
Until 2013, Svanvik was one of the six border stations of the border company in Sør-Varanger. The border station Svanvik has been subordinate to the three southernmost border stations Svanvik, Skogfoss and Gjøkåsen since 2014. In June 2014, a barracks was put into operation, which houses the newly established Pasvik border company.
