Sven Heinemann (born October 26, 1978 in Baden-Baden ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since 2011 .

Life and work

Heinemann received his Abitur in 1999 at the Holy Sepulcher Monastery School in Baden-Baden. From 2000 to 2008 he studied social sciences at the Humboldt University in Berlin. As a freelancer, he wrote for the Berliner Morgenpost and the Berliner Zeitung, among others, during his school and study days . In addition to his studies, Heinemann began to be politically active and in 2001 became a member of the SPD. Alongside his studies, he worked for the Federal Executive Committee of the SPD and as a research assistant for the North Rhine-Westphalia regional group and Petra Weis in the German Bundestag. He completed his social science education in 2008 with a thesis on the subject of privatization of the city using Berlin as an example .

After completing his studies, Heinemann worked from 2009 to 2013 as a consultant at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development . Since 2015 he has been a consultant in the policy department of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety .

Sven Heinemann is a member of several party-internal, party-affiliated and non-profit associations, including DL21 , ver.di , AWO and KulturRaum Zwingli-Kirche .

In 2001 Sven Heinemann became a member of the SPD . During his studies he was the spokesman for the Young Socialists Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg (2003–2008) and Deputy Chairman of the Young Socialists in Berlin (2004–2008). From 2006 to 2011 he was also citizen's deputy of the committee for the environment, transport and housing in the district assembly of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg . Since 2008 he has been chairman of department 13 of the SPD Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.

On September 18, 2011, Heinemann was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 as a member of the Berlin Parliament . He was re-elected for the 2016 parliamentary elections. He has been a member of the main committee and the subcommittees for assets and investment management and controlling since 2011 . He has represented the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives as spokesman for wealth policy since 2016. Since 2018 he has also been chairman of the budget and finance working group of the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives and a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee.
