Sven Simon (actor)

Sven Simon (born April 20, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German theater actor .

Life

Simon comes from a family of actors. His father Kurt Simon ran the St. Pauli Theater , his mother is the actress Helga Simon. He sang in the children's choir of the Hamburg State Opera and also appeared there as an extra. Simon completed his training in classical dance with Fridel Nichols and received his acting training in the acting studio of Hildburg Frese . He has taken on roles at the Thalia Theater (Hamburg) , the Deutsches Schauspielhaus and the Braunschweig State Theater .

Under General Director Hans Thoenies, he came to the Lübeck Theater in 1983 , and has been part of its ensemble ever since. There he made his debut in Sławomir Mrożek's “On Foot”. He had his breakthrough in "Caligula" by Albert Camus .

He also worked in the movie Till (1988) by Felix Tissi, appeared in two episodes of the television series Großstadtrevier in 1995 as "Buckle" and gave "Abesalom" in the short film Wolfsschlucht (2003) by Anja Jacobs and "Johann" in Jacobs' TV movie Kiss Me For Love (2008).

At the Lübeck Theater he is involved in the works council . On the occasion of his 30th stage anniversary in Lübeck in 2013, he described the time of the artistic director of Dietrich von Oertzen (1991 to 2000) as the heyday of the Lübeck drama. He was followed by Marc Adam (2001 to 2007): During his directorship, "almost everything in the spoken theater was destroyed", "that was built under Dietrich von Oertzen". The audience wouldn't have wanted to see this theater.

Simon is the father of three children.

In 1983, Simon was ranked 3rd as Young Actor of the Year by Theater heute magazine .
