Sverre Andersen (born October 9, 1936 in Stavanger ; † November 1, 2016 there ) was a Norwegian football player .

Athletic career

Andersen joined Viking Stavanger in 1947/48 , for whom he made his debut as a goalkeeper in a friendly game at the age of 16 in 1952 . From 1954 he came to the club in the Norwegian championship and ran up to the end of his career in 1971 in 262 championship games. At the same time he became a national player, in August 1956 he made his debut for the Norwegian national team . He played a total of 41 international matches . In 1964 he took part in a game of a Northern European selection team against a European selection.

1966 to 1970, 1973 and again briefly in the fall of 1985, he acted as the coach of the first team. In 1979 he was made an honorary member.

Andersen's main job was as an engineer .
