Svetlana Issakova (born June 14, 1993 in Tallinn ) is a former Estonian figure skater .
Career
Issakova started figure skating in 1999 at the age of six, was later trained by former Soviet figure skater Anna Levandi and started for the Anna Levandi FSC club. At the Estonian Junior Championships in January 2005, she secured her first medal with silver in the individual run. A year later, she secured her first junior title. She repeated this success four times in the following years. From the 2006/07 season she started internationally at the Junior Grand Prix. In the first year, Issakova was able to achieve second place in Liberec . With further good results she qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final in Gdansk . There she finished seventh. At the Estonian Championships in 2008 she won her first and only national title ahead of Johanna Allik and Olga Ikonnikova . At the Junior World Championships in the same year she reached 26th place. In the following year, she climbed to 15th place, before reaching 12th place in 2010. At the European Figure Skating Championships 2011 in Bern , she reached 18th place. Before that she had secured the starting place with silver at the Estonian Championships. In December 2011 she won again bronze at the Estonian Championships behind Jelena Glebova and Gerli Liinamäe . In the 2012/13 season Issakova started with rather manageable success at the Volvo Open and in Warsaw. In her last season 2013/14 she was able to get third place at the Ice Star in Minsk .
