Svetlana Tsogoeva

Svetlana B. Tsogoeva ( Russian Светлана Б. Цогоева / Swetlana B. Zogojewa ; born February 18, 1973 in Unal, RSFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian chemist and university professor .

Tsogoeva studied at the Saint Petersburg State University until 1995 . She then did her doctorate in 1998 on Synthesis of Modified Analogues of Steroid Estrogens, also in Saint Petersburg . Then she went to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main for a post-doc project of the German Research Foundation . In 2000 she started working for Degussa in Hanau-Wolfgang . In January 2002 she was appointed the first female junior professor in Germany at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture . Since February 2007 she has been Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .
