Svetozar Stojanović

Svetozar Stojanović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Светозар Стојановић ; * 1931 in Kragujevac ; † May 7, 2010 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav or Serbian philosopher .

He studied philosophy at the University of Belgrade , where he received his doctorate in 1962 . He became a member of the practice group and professor of philosophy at the University of Belgrade, from which he and seven other lecturers were removed in 1975 for political reasons. From 1981 he was an employee of the Institut za filozofiju i društvenu teoriju (Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory) in Belgrade. In 1992/93 he was advisor to the President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Dobrica Ćosić . He was an opponent of Slobodan Milošević and after his overthrow by Vojislav Koštunica was appointed a member of the Komisije za istinu i pomirenje (Commission for Truth and Reconciliation), which was soon dissolved.
