The Swine Hill ( English for pig hill ) is the southern second rugged and 550  m high hill on the Rymill coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 16 km west-northwest of Mount Bagshawe above Gadarene Lake on George VI Sound .

It was first photographed by the US polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth during an overflight on November 23, 1935. These aerial photos served as a template for mapping by the US geographer WLG Joerg . The first survey was carried out by the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill in 1936. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey named it in 1948 based on the name of Gadarene Lake ( see there ).
