The Swingin 'Utters are a punk rock band from California .

history

They were founded by singer Johnny Bonnel, guitarists Max Huber and Darius Koski, bassist Kevin and drummer Greg McEntee. The bassist's place had a frequently changing line-up and so her first LP was recorded with six different bassists. Spike Slawson, who also plays in Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, currently has this position. Their trademark are trashy electric guitar sounds with some folk elements. The exact date of foundation is no longer known, but they place themselves in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band, originally from Santa Cruz , soon moved to San Francisco . There she released various singles and EPs on smaller labels such as Side One and IFA Records , until they released their first LP The Streets of San Francisco on the New Red Archives label in 1995.

This brought them attention and the award for best debut album at the Bay Area Music Awards. After appearing on the first Vans Warped Tour and appearing with Rancid , they signed a contract with Fat Wreck Chords . In 1996 they published A Juvenile Product of the Working Class and two years later Five Lessons Learned . In addition, the EPs Sounds Wrong (1998) and Brazen Head (1999) were re-released. A year later the album Swingin 'Utters and tours with the Dropkick Murphys and The Damned followed . In 2002 guitarist Max Huber got out and was not replaced. Dead Flowers, Bottles, Bluegrass, and Bones were published in 2003. In 2008, the B-Sides collection "Hatest Grits: B-Sides And Bullshit" was published.
