Swissmechanic is a Swiss employers', specialist and professional association of medium-sized entrepreneurs in the machine, electrical and metal industries with its headquarters in Weinfelden TG. The mechanical-technical and electrotechnical-electronic professional groups as well as branch and specialist organizations in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein (such as the Sheet Metal Forum ) are affiliated .
The association's policy focuses on the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME companies), be they suppliers, manufacturers of their own products or service providers. The Blech Forum is also organized as a member of the association . The association was founded on June 17, 1939 on the grounds of the National Exhibition in Zurich.

The association comprises 15 independent sections, a national organization (Swissmechanic Switzerland in Weinfelden, TG) and additional associated organizations.
The association is organized in the following departments:
- Politics (advocacy)
- Economy (occupational safety, services, etc.)
- Education - Vocational training (basic vocational training) and advanced training ( manufacturing specialist with federal certificate, new production specialist , technician HF mechanical engineering)
The association has been chaired by the Glarus entrepreneur and FDP politician Roland Goethe since October 2014 . Jürg Marti is responsible for the operational management of the national organization Swissmechanic Switzerland.
Member firms
The association represents a total of around 1,400 members with around 70,000 employees, around 6,000 of whom are trainees. Also affiliated to Swissmechanic is the Sheet Metal Forum Association , which endeavors to further develop the sheet metal processing industry in Switzerland.
