Sylvius Ferdinand von Stwolinsky

Sylvius Ferdinand von Stwolinsky (* 1717 ; † June 4, 1787 in Minden ) was a Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 10 and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .

Life

He was the son of Gottfried Leopold von Stwolinsky, Herr auf Naßadel, and his wife Rosine Sophie, née von Sternberg from the house of Böhmisch-Rudelsdorf.

He entered Prussian service in 1733. In December 1740 he became a private corporal in the newly established Fusilier Regiment No. 35 , in 1752 he became Second Lieutenant of the Grenadiers. On February 19, 1757 he was staff captain when the regiment was attacked in his quarters near Hirschfeld. He was awarded the Pour le Merite for his bravery. In 1760 he became a major and in 1771 a lieutenant colonel. In 1778 he became a colonel and commandant of the regiment. On August 6, 1781, he was appointed major general and chief of the 10th Infantry Regiment.

Stwolinsky died unmarried in Minden in 1787 .
