Synagogue (Akhaltsikhe)

The synagogue in Akhaltsikhe , a city in southern Georgia , was built in 1863. It is one of two Jewish houses of worship in Akhaltsikhe and is known as the Old Synagogue . The New Synagogue is not far on the same street.

The synagogue of the Georgian Jewish community has a Torah shrine on the west side. The entrance is on the south. On the east side, opposite the Torah shrine, is the women's gallery .

The building was renovated in 2011/12.
