description
“The synagogue was built on a rectangular floor plan with a main room on a square floor plan. Coming from the west side was the women's gallery on the first floor . The men's room was covered with a mirror vault. The women's gallery was newer and made of wood. The stone portal from the anteroom, which was closed with a semicircular arch, was set in half-columns and decorated with bas-reliefs and flower vases, testifies to the magnificent furnishings. The outer facade of the synagogue was decorated with Tuscan pilasters , between which the arched windows were placed. It is equipped with a beam frame with a frieze with triglyphs and metopes and rose windows . The triangular struts of the synagogue contain Hebrew inscriptions. In the annex there was a cheder , a library, a mikveh and the rabbi's apartment . In 1880, after the death of Binem Moszkowicz from Stępowice, an Aron Ha-Kodesz was bought from his legacy for 2000 rubles and set up in the synagogue. "(From Virtual Shtetl, see weblinks)
