The synagogue in Enschede , a large city in the east of the Netherlands , was built in 1927/28. The former synagogue is located at 16 Prinsestraat.

Since the old synagogue in the city center had become too small, a new synagogue was built according to plans by Karel de Bazel . The interior of the synagogue is richly decorated with colorful stained glass windows and mosaics . It offered space for 600 worshipers .

The current owner of the building is the Enschede Synagogue Foundation .
