Synagogue in Hainburg on the Danube

The synagogue in Hainburg an der Donau , a municipality in the Bruck an der Leitha district in Lower Austria , was built in the 14th century. The secular synagogue at Wiener Straße 9 is a protected architectural monument .

The rectangular quarry stone building is in the courtyard of the house. The gable walls tower over the current roof, as the building was originally higher. False ceilings were drawn in inside. The cellar has partially a molded stone vault , at the exit to the cellar there is a beveled arch.

To the north stands a tower-like building over a square floor plan with a polygonal brick helmet that originally carried a finial .
