The synagogue in Hrodna , the fifth largest Belarusian city ​​in Hrodsenskaya Woblasz , was built around 1750. The synagogue was damaged in a fire in 1899 and then rebuilt, adding the two small corner buildings.

The synagogue building was destroyed during the Second World War.

Before 1941, the proportion of the Jewish population in Hrodna was very high. The majority of the Jewish population was murdered by the German occupiers during the Holocaust .
