The synagogue in the Gangelt community at Heinsberger Strasse 11. It is the only surviving synagogue from the November pogroms in the Heinsberg district . It is profane .

history

The synagogue is a brick building . It was inaugurated in 1824.

During the November pogroms in 1938 , the synagogue was devastated but not set on fire so as not to endanger the neighboring houses. The furnishings and cult objects were looted. After the pogrom, the building was sold and converted.

It is a protected architectural monument .
