The synagogue building in 2007

The synagogue in Loslau (Polish: Wodzisław Śląski ), an Upper Silesian city in the southern part of Poland , was built in 1826.

The secular synagogue with a representative facade with three arches replaced a half-timbered building from 1798, which was destroyed by fire in 1822. The synagogue was closed and the congregation dissolved in 1924.

The synagogue building has been used as a cinema since the Second World War and in the following years. Today there is a branch of a German drugstore chain in the building.
