The synagogue in Reggio nell'Emilia , the capital of the Italian province of Reggio Emilia in the Lombardy region , was built in 1856. The synagogue is on Via dell'Aquila, in the former ghetto .

The neoclassical building was built according to plans by the architect Peter Reggio Marchelli on the site of a previous building from 1672.

The synagogue was damaged by Allied bombing during World War II . After the war, the interior furnishings of the synagogue, especially the magnificent Torah shrine , were brought to Israel in the synagogue of Kirjat Shmuel near Haifa .

In September 2008, on the occasion of the ninth day of Jewish culture , the renovated building was reopened and has been used for cultural events ever since.
