Synagogue in Saint-Mihiel

The synagogue in Saint-Mihiel , a French commune in the Meuse department of the Lorraine region , was built in 1866/67. The secular synagogue is located at 26 rue des Annonciades.

History and description

The synagogue was designed by the architect Hippolyte Bazoche and inaugurated on January 4, 1867. It was co-financed by the state and the city. In 1976 it was sold to a private person and then converted into a residential building.

The horseshoe arch above the entrance portal rests on two pillars . There is a walled up rose window above . The tablets of the law , originally on the gable, are now in the Verdun synagogue .
