The synagogue in Vodňany (German Wodnian ), a Czech town in Okres Strakonice in the South Bohemian Region , was built in 1849. The desecrated synagogue on the Majerova Road 153 is a protected since 1988 cultural monument .

history

In 1834 the Jewish community bought a piece of land where house No. V used to be. The neo-classical style synagogue, built in 1849, was used as a place of worship until the Second World War .

The synagogue has served as the city ​​museum since 1959 .
