System Reference Manual

The system reference manual firmware (also SRM console called) is the boat - Firmware for computer systems based on Alpha AXP processors are based.

The System Reference Manual console was developed by DEC to boot OSF / 1 (later called Digital UNIX and finally Tru64 UNIX ) and Open VMS operating systems. Other operating systems such as Linux , NetBSD , OpenBSD, and FreeBSD were later set up to boot with SRM.
