Szilárd Kun (born March 23, 1935 in Budapest , † August 31, 1987 there ) was a Hungarian sports shooter .

successes

Szilárd Kun took part in five Olympic Games . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he scored 578 points with the rapid fire pistol at 25 m and then had to play off with Gheorghe Lichiardopol . In this he defeated Lichiardopol with 140: 137 and thus received the silver medal. He also scored 578 points in Melbourne in 1956 , but this time it was only enough for sixth place. His third Olympic participation in Tokyo in 1964 , he finished fifth with 589 points and was only one point behind the medal ranks. He finished the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City with 583 points in 20th place, while he finished his last games in 1972 in Munich with 583 points in 23rd place.
