Szymon Stanisław Giżyński (born March 8, 1956 in Częstochowa ) is a Polish politician and has been a member of the Sejm in the IV, V and VI since 2001 . Electoral term.

He finished studying Polish studies . Until December 1981 he was a member of the Catholic, government-affiliated association "Pax" . In the 1980s he was a sales representative for various companies. After 1990 he belonged to the Catholic right-wing conservative Porozumienie Centrum (Center Agreement - PC), the Ruch dla Rzeczypospolitej (Movement for the Republic) and the Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność (Solidarność electoral alliance - AWS), until he joined Prawo i Sprawiedliwość in 2001 (Law and Justice - PiS) joined.

In the 1990s he was the main partner and editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper "Gazeta Częstochowska". From 1997 to 1998 he was the last voivod of the Częstochowa Voivodeship . After assuming the office of voivode, he gave up his shares and posts in the "Gazeta Częstochowska" and ceded them to his wife Urszula. From 2000 to 2001 he headed the Silesian department of Agencja Reststrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture. In the local elections in 2006 he ran for the office of mayor of Częstochowa and achieved fourth place with 12.56%.

In the parliamentary elections in 2001 and 2005 he won a member of parliament for the constituency 28 of Częstochowa (in 2005 with 15,840 votes) via the list of PiS. In the 2007 parliamentary elections , he was elected to the Sejm for the third time for the PiS with 28,531 votes. He is a member of the Sejm Commission for Agriculture.
