The TÜV Thüringen is an international service company with headquarters in Erfurt . TÜV Thuringia is set up as a group of companies and is in competition with other testing organizations. The Free State of Thuringia is the only one of the new federal states that has an independent technical inspection association.

description

The TÜV Thuringia group of companies has its main focus in Central Germany and operates nationwide and worldwide. More than 1000 employees work at ten locations in Germany, numerous vehicle test facilities and in twelve countries.

The experts at TÜV Thuringia work in the areas of plant safety, product testing, qualification, system certification, the environment and traffic.

The company's range of services, both in the technical and non-technical areas, has changed significantly in the years since it was re-established in 1990. For example, the need for environmental studies has decreased significantly since 2000. For this purpose, new markets outside of the technical areas such as testing and certification were opened up.

TÜV Thuringia has around 150 different approvals on which different services are based. The services always include one of the methods of analyzing, assessing, advising, conceiving, measuring, testing, qualifying or certifying. This results in all services, for example training of specialist personnel, assessments for driving suitability, calibration of measuring devices, testing of technical systems and motor vehicles through to certification of technical systems, products, management systems and personnel.

Brand, logo and image

Company history

1907-1938

The roots of TÜV Thuringia lie in the Gotha Steam Boiler Inspection Association, which was founded in Gotha over 100 years ago. The association was primarily an organization of boiler operators that acted independently and relieved the state. With the constant change and rapid expansion of new means of production and facilities, new areas of work were created and existing ones expanded. At the turn of the century, for example, the testing of electrical systems and testing of drivers and motor vehicles were introduced.

1938-1945

By decree of the Reich government in 1938, all audit associations were given the new designation "Technical Monitoring Association". After the Second World War , all clubs were dissolved by the victorious powers because of their involvement in the structures of National Socialism.

1945-1989

After the Second World War, the Soviet military administration of Germany set up occupational safety departments in the offices for labor and social welfare in their zone of occupation. From this, in 1965, the technical inspection of the GDR was founded. The state office for technical monitoring had the task of guaranteeing the protection of life and property.

Since 1990

In April 1990 the TÜV Thüringen eV was re-established by representatives of the economy in Erfurt and quickly became the officially recognized technical monitoring organization of the Free State of Thuringia and the monitoring organization for motor vehicle traffic. In autumn 1990, TÜV Thuringia became a member of the Association of Technical Monitoring Associations (VdTÜV eV). The fields of work were gradually expanded in line with technical developments: studies of environmental pollution, product tests, damage assessments, X-ray tests, fitness to drive tests as well as training and further education became more and more important. The TÜV Akademie GmbH group of companies TÜV Thüringen has been offering target group-oriented seminars and courses for industry, trade and service providers since 1991. In addition, a training facility in Bad Liebenstein serves as a training and advanced training facility in the field of health and safety at work.

The certification body for management systems personnel of TÜV Thuringia has been issuing certificates since 1993, thereby supporting national and international companies in the introduction and further development of management systems.

In 1993 TÜV Thuringia founded the first foreign subsidiary. With TÜVLITA, vehicle monitoring based on the European model was introduced in Lithuania. Since then, the number of foreign subsidiaries has increased steadily.

The former monopoly position of the TÜVe was gradually lifted by 2007 through the market liberalization efforts of the European Union. As a result, TÜV Thuringia is not only in competition with other technical inspection associations and other competitors in Thuringia, but nationwide with all its services.

Donation seal

The donation seal of TÜV Thuringia has certified fundraising organizations since 2009. It differs from other donation seals in that it primarily enhances the efficiency of internal fundraising workflows . H. the fundraising process. The writing of work processes and the clarification of responsibilities should create more efficiency and thus save time and money. The seal is therefore more of a business management nature than evidence of the sensible use of the money collected. The procedure is chargeable. The TÜV does not make any statements about the costs. The organization Doctors Without Borders was the first to receive the certificate .
