The Tønsberg Cove is a bay on the north coast of Coronation Iceland in Archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located between 1.5 km southeast of Penguin Point .
The Norwegian whaling captain Petter Sørlle mapped it between 1912 and 1913. He named it Tønsberg Fjord after Tønsberg Hvalfangeri, a whaling company from Tønsberg , Norway , which operated a permanent whaling station on the South Orkney Islands in the 1920s and 1930s. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee adapted this designation in 1960 to the actual nature.
