The Türkiye İşçi Partisi (short name: TİP ; Turkish for "Workers' Party of Turkey") is a socialist - Marxist party in Turkey that was founded in 2017 .

history

The party is the successor to the party of the same name founded in 1961 , which was banned after the military coups in 1971 and 1980 and which later merged with the then Communist Party of Turkey.

Since the parliamentary elections in 2018, it has had two MPs, who obtained their seats on the HDP's electoral lists .
