Tōru Oniki ( Japanese 鬼 木 達 , Oniki Tōru ; born April 20, 1974 in Chiba Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Oniki learned to play soccer on the school team at Funabashi High School . He signed his first contract with the Kashima Antlers in 1993 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . With the club he became Japanese champion in 1996 . In 1997 he won the J.League Cup and Kaiserpokal with the club . In 1998 he was loaned to the second division side Kawasaki Frontale . In 1998 he was runner-up in the Japan Football League with the club . For the club he completed 27 games. In 1999 he returned to the Kashima Antlers. For the club, he completed 27 first division games. In 2000 he moved to league rivals Kawasaki Frontale. In 2000 he reached the final of the J.League Cup. At the end of the 2000 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2004 he was with the club master of the J2 League and rose to the J1 League. In 2006 he was runner-up in the J1 League with the club. For the club he completed 133 games. At the end of 2006 he ended his career as a football player.
