T. Mayer is an impact crater on the western front of the moon in the mountains of the Montes Carpatus between Mare Insularum and Mare Imbrium . It is northwest of Copernicus Crater and southwest of Pytheas . The crater wall is almost circular with a little eroded edge and the crater floor is relatively flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German astronomer Tobias Mayer .
