Function overview TI-83 Plus

The calculator has a high-contrast, eight-line, divisible display with 16 characters each. It supports various programming languages ( TI-Basic , C and Z80 - assembler ) and allows input, storage and display of up to 10 right-angled, 6 parametric and 6 polar functions as well as 3 sequences, as well

  • Interactive graphical analysis with derivatives and integrals.

  • Advanced statistical functions, including hypothesis tests and calculation of confidence intervals. Probability distributions.
  • Custom list names with up to 999 items.
  • Store and analyze up to 10 matrices, the size of which is only limited by the available memory.
  • Equation solver.
  • Dimensions: 82 × 183.9 × 21 mm
  • numerical differentiator using the Symbolic program
  • Current version of the operating system: 1.19

The TI-83 Plus Silver Edition also has more storage capacity (which is also far greater than that of the TI-84 Plus ).

Broken signature key

The TI-83 Plus operating system is signed with an RSA key. Since the key is only 512 bits long, members of the United-TI forum managed to break the key with the help of ordinary PCs in order to install modified versions of the operating system. It is considered the first case in which a practically relevant 512 bit RSA key was broken. Texas Instruments tried to prevent the key from being spread with the help of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act , but in protest, the key was mirrored in many places on the Internet, including by Wikileaks .
