The dance sport club Grün-Weiß Aquisgrana Aachen e. V. is a German dance sport club based in Aachen - Laurensberg and is currently the largest dance sport club of the DTV in North Rhine-Westphalia with over 900 members of all age groups (as of 2011) .
Sports orientation
Oliver Rehder (dance sport trainer A Standard in DTV, 2 times German master professional standard freestyle, German runner-up professional standard, World Cup finalist professional standard freestyle) and Claus Salberg (dance sport trainer A Standard + Latin in DTV) in the tournament group Standard or Torsten Schröder (dance sport trainer A Latin + A standard in the DTV) in the tournament group Latin , as well as Leonore Gschaider ( jazz and modern dance ) top-class trainers available.
The club's public figure are the tournament athletes (as of 2006: over 50 couples). The majority of the members, however, practice dancing as a popular sport in dance circles for beginners through to mass sport tournaments. Of the social dances on popular dances up to the oriental dance is found for each the appropriate form of exercise. The association attaches great importance to promoting children and young people. The offer ranges from children's dance to jazz and modern dance groups to ballroom dancing . There is also close cooperation with university sports.
The community and the sociable togetherness are focal points of the association, which is very important.
In addition to practicing dance in all its diversity, a particular aim is to establish cross-border contacts with like-minded people in the Netherlands and Belgium . Since 2002, these relationships have been promoted and intensified primarily through dancing in the triangle .
Formations
Apart from the couple dance, the club maintains a standard formation that starts in the Regionalliga West, as well as several jazz and modern dance formations.

history
The association was founded on June 3rd, 1984 by 32 enthusiastic dancers. It developed quickly and is currently the largest dance sport club of the DTV in North Rhine-Westphalia with over 900 members of all age groups (as of 2011).
Since 1992 he has had his own club house with three halls on the outskirts of Laurensberg . With a total of 800 m², it offers training opportunities for more than 35 training groups from a wide variety of dance sports. By merging two halls, one room for up to 550 guests and a dance floor of 18 × 12 m² is available for events. The large terrace in front of the guest rooms, which is served in summer, offers a view of the greenery.
In addition to the consistent management of the club, a number of excellent coaches were jointly responsible for the positive and successful development of the club at all times: Starting with Wolfgang Opitz as guest coach, Herbert Schmitz, Dagmar Budde, Ton Greten , Thomas Derner and Henriette Wagner followed.
In addition, numerous couples took part very successfully in major international tournaments across Europe.
