The new beginning

The gymnasium was completely destroyed in the bombing raid on Würzburg on March 16, 1945 . Fritz Düngfelder (first board member 1946–1951) was responsible for the new beginning when TSV Jahn 1892 Würzburg was re-established on January 27, 1946. In 1950 a new club house was opened. In 1953 there were already 4 first places for TSV Jahn 1892 Würzburg at the big gymnastics festival in Hamburg . In 1957 the newly built gym was inaugurated. Adam Burkard (first board member 1951–1966), who carried out the new hall in cooperation with the association's members, was responsible for the reconstruction. The hall has been renovated and expanded several times so far.

When general interest in apparatus gymnastics declined at the end of the 1960s, new departments were established within the association and the focus was placed on recreational sports . The Japanese martial arts judo , karate and kendo in particular led to a realignment of the club. In 2009, the kendo department provided Jan Heintz, a current Bavarian individual champion.
