TTC Kurpfalz Ludwigshafen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The TTC Kurpfalz Ludwigshafen is a former table tennis club from Ludwigshafen-Mundenheim . Its women's team was one of the best teams in Germany before the Second World War and became the first German champions.

In 1933/34 a German women's team championship in table tennis was held for the first time. The final round took place in Erfurt . Here the team of the TTC Kurpfalz Ludwigshafen won ahead of the Post SV Blau-Gelb Braunschweig, the DSC Hagen and the TTC Gelb-Weiß Berlin (which did not make it to the final round). Only the players Rösel Fahlbusch and Helene Kreß are known from this championship team .

The team also reached the finals in the two following years. In 1934/35 it came second behind SG Reemtsma Dresden (ahead of TTV Herne and TTC Saxonia Hamburg), in 1935/36 it remained without a win and came third behind BSG Osram Berlin and Schwarz-Gelb Elberfeld (TTC Saxonia Hamburg did not enter on).
