The TTV Hövelhof is a table tennis club from Hövelhof in the Paderborn district . The women's team played in the Bundesliga for two years .

history

The club has its roots in the Hövelhofer SV and for years formed its table tennis department. The department later split off from the parent association under the name TTV Hövelhof. The exact date is not known. After many years in the association or major league, he was promoted to the Regionalliga West in 2005. Three years later, the entrepreneur Klaus Hedenkamp began to get involved financially with TTV. The team promptly made it to the 2nd Bundesliga. After the runner-up in 2009 behind the TTK Anröchte and in 2012 behind the TuS Uentrop , the Hövelhofer women became champions in the 2012/13 season. However, the club waived the promotion.

Two years later, TTV Hövelhof became champions without losing points and this time rose to the Bundesliga. After a sixth place in the 2015/16 season , fifth place followed a year later . However, the club withdrew the team from the Bundesliga at the end of the season after team manager Klaus-Dieter Borgmeier withdrew for health reasons and a successor was not in sight. The club made a new start in the association league in the 2017/18 season.
