The TT G 2/2 was a meter-gauge tank locomotive with a B wheel arrangement . The Tramelan-Tavannes-Bahn (TT) acquired two machines with the numbers 1 and 2 from the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works (SLM) in Winterthur to start operations in 1884 When major overhauls were necessary, a third locomotive had to be purchased in 1891.
construction
The locomotives had inner frames and longitudinal springs suspended at the front under the axle bearings. The coal box was arranged next to the fire box , the water supply was carried in the box frame. The boiler of normal design carried a steam dome . The engine worked on the second axis and was protected by a screed running all around. The control worked according to the Brown system with double lever transmission. The elevated cylinders were next to the smoke chamber , the valve box was below. The machines had a hand-pull sand spreader . There were two sandboxes on the kettle for this purpose. Until 1893 the locomotives were equipped with the lever brake, then with the vacuum brake according to Hardy. The locomotives were somewhat undersized for the railway line with gradients of up to 40 per thousand.
Further use
With the electrification in 1913, the locomotives became redundant. The machines, which had recently received new boilers, were rented out as construction locomotives for the electrification of other routes. Number 1 was used, among other things, on the Chur-Arosa-Bahn , numbers 2 and 3 on Nyon-Saint-Cergue-Morez-Bahn .
With the merger of the Tavannes-Tramelan-Bahn (TT) and the Tramelan-Les Breuleux-Le Noirmont-Bahn (TBN), the locomotives came into the possession of the Chemin de fer Tavannes-Noirmont (CTN) in 1927 . After the vehicles had been in reserve for some time, machine no. 2 was demolished in 1940 and the other two locomotives in 1943.
